Communication and Relief Efforts
We really do not have a firm picture of what the weather will be like regarding Hurricane Irma. Currently, it appears that the track of the hurricane could pass over or near to Charlotte sometime in the early hours of Tuesday morning, September 12. We will make every attempt to notify you as soon as possible of school cancellation and will err on the side of safety.
In the event of school closings, delays, or early dismissals, RenWeb Parent Alert will be issued to all phone numbers on file. Announcements will also be posted on news stations (WSOC, WBTV, and WCNC) and through social media. If you need to update your phone numbers or email, please contact the school at 704-531-4198 or sheilachaney@hgchristian.org.
Lastly, Hickory Grove Baptist Church has started collecting items for those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas (and possibly for use elsewhere). We are partnering with the church in this endeavor and will have large yellow bins available for drop-off during afternoon carline next week. Below you will find the needed items. Please place an assortment of the items in gallon storage bags, and we will collect them each afternoon as you pick up your children in the car rider line. Simply hand them to the teacher or student through the window as you drive by the yellow bins.

ShoppingBoss Fundraiser Starts Today!
HGCS Families! We are so excited to launch our 1st of two school wide fundraisers of the year today! Every student will receive information about the ShoppingBoss fundraiser as well as a letter from our Head of School, Dr. Quesinberry, about why this fundraiser is vitally important for HGCS. If by chance a letter did not make its way to you this afternoon, you can find it HERE . Our goal is for each student to sell at least two ShoppingBoss cards and because we know we have students who go above and beyond, a prize will be awarded to the top individual seller in each school as well as a pizza party for the grade who sells the most. Thank you for supporting HGCS!
These quick videos will help you learn more about this program and how you can support our school!
