Re-enrollment

Chick Fil A Night for Precious Cargo
Please stop by Chick Fil-A on Albemarle Road this Thursday, December 14, from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. 20 % of proceeds will go towards Precious Cargo ministry.


2018 Dominican Republic Mission Trip Donation
Our Senior Class is headed to the Dominican for our annual Mission Trip. The dates of the trip are January 8-12, 2018. This trip would not be possible without the donations from our Hickory Grove families. Monetary donations are also being accepted to purchase food bags once the students arrive in the Dominican. Students assemble and distribute the food bags to families in the villages and communities while they minister to the local people. A small gift of $15.00 will feed a family of four for one month. Report Cards

HGCS Parents,
Please note that the 2nd quarter report cards (1st semester) will be available for you to view/print beginning Thursday, January 4.  They will remain open until Friday, January, 19.   If you need to print a copy of your child's report card, please make sure you do so by Friday, January 19.  This option will be closed by the end of the day on January 19, 2018. Thank you.

Yearbook Personalization

Yearbook personalization forms are due by this Friday, December 15th. We will not be accepting anymore personalization orders in the new year.

*It is Imperative that you come HIGHLY prepared to the audition.
What do you need prepared?
Group Song: Under the Sea (melody)
Individual Song: Choose a specific Character's song based on who you most want to be cast as.  Choose from the list attached.
Dance: Learn the Dance after School Tuesday Dec. 5 OR watch the video on the Musical classroom and learn at home.
Acting: You will have a section of the play to read for a specific character. Just be familiar with the characters in the play so you can do a good job no matter who you read for.

HGCS Student Referral Program



Current Hickory Grove Christian School families who recommend our school to non-HGCS families can receive a $250 discount (per recommended student) for the 2018-2019 annual tution if the prospective student:
  • Applies and pays his/her full registration fee ($400) by February 28, 2018 AND
  • Is accepted for his/her grade level and is enrolled for the 2018-2019 school year.
The family of the prospective student must provide the name of the recommending HGCS family at the time of registration for the recommending family to earn and utilize the discount for the 2018-2019 school year.

November 17 – Specials Teachers and Supply Helpers Appreciation Day

We are thankful for our children’s well rounded education through the Specials Classes that are offered each week. We are also thankful for those staff members that purchase and print the supplies they use each day.  

Please plan to say a special thank you to them on Friday, November 17th by sending in notes of encouragement, seasonal gifts, and special treats.  Your Room Mom will notify you of your grade assigned Specials Teachers and then please find your grade’s Supply Helpers on the list below to recognize as well.

Invite your friends and family to our Open House

HGCS will be hosting a number of Open Houses over the next few months. We know that you, our current families, are the best way for prospective families to learn about what HGCS has to offer. We hope that you will invite your friends to come see what makes your school “Distinctively Different, Distinctively Christian”.


There are a few ways you can do this:

  1. Pick up some Open House postcards in the school offices or by one of the two TV’s in the Education Center 1st floor hallway
  2. If you are on facebook, share this Open House Event (http://bit.ly/HGCSOpenHouse) with your facebook friends
  3. Talk to your friends about why you chose HGCS and what makes your school special
  4. Direct them to http://hgchristian.org/admissions/open-house/ for more information

Precious Cargo

In response to the Adoption and the Gospel event on October 1st with Dr. Russell Moore and Hickory Grove Baptist Church, HGCS seeks to support families and children in need when it comes to adoption and foster care. Please take a moment to watch this short video from our Dean of Students and his wife, Adam & Elizabeth Hamilton about how we can support foster care children in our area.

We are asking for everyone to bring in gently used or new duffel bags to be given to different foster care agencies. If students would like to add basic items such as hygiene items, fleece blankets, pjs, socks, diapers, and wipes, books, toys, or other children items to be placed in the bags, that would be an added bonus. Students can give the items to their homeroom teacher to be collected. No "boxy" suitcases please.

Please be in prayer for the 11,000+ children in North Carolina who are currently in foster care.

ShoppingBoss Fundraiser Extended!


The AAA Booster Club would like to thank everyone who participated in the ShoppingBoss Fundraiser last month! Congratulations to the 3rd grade who was the top selling grade for the entire school and earned a pizza party! 3rd grader, Tristan Nelson, was our top individual seller for Elementary School. 6th grader, Anna Li Quesinberry, was our top individual seller for Middle School, and 9th grader, Jordon Nelson, was our top individual seller for High School. Each received an exclusive duffle bag from Under Armour!

As the first of only two school wide fundraisers this year, the goal was for each student to sell just 2 ShoppingBoss cards for a total of 1400 cards school wide. With 445 cards sold, the ShoppingBoss fundraiser has been extended until 10/20 in hopes that we will reach our goal. In exchange for a $20 donation to HGCS, you will receive a ShoppingBoss card which will give you cash back on your purchases at over 250 participating stores. School Pictures

St John Photography recently took photos of your child at school and it's very important that you choose the photo of your choice to go into the yearbook by October 15th.
  1.  First, go to: www.stjohnphotography.com
  2. ‘Schools’, ‘Order Photos’, ‘Hickory Grove Christian School’, ‘Individual & Class/Team 2017-2018’
  3. When prompted, enter the student ID # located on the flyer that was sent home with your child (email info@stjohnphotography.com if you need the code)
  4. Be sure to choose your child’s yearbook image by selecting ‘Yearbook Choice’, ‘Select Photo’ and then ‘Confirm’ (no need to login or register)
  5. Once you close your browser, the yearbook selection will transmit to St. John Photography
